I'm looking for the wiper assembly from the motor onwards...no need for the motor as its in good shape.
basically my wipers have become super sloppy and not keeping good contact with the windshield, after a quick look it appears the aluminum mounting sleeve which attaches to the cowl has worn through.
It requires a new mounting sleeve, but from what my research shows, you can only purchase the entire link assembly

Toyota wants $578 for this piece :flipoff2:

if you have one or have a lead on one please let me know!

no I'm looking for the rectangular pieces with the sleeve through it for the main wiper shaft which your blades attach to. it has two bolt holes to mount to the cowl

I remember tripping over an assembly in my basement for years. I'll check and get back to you.
PS: if found, its yours for $575.-no shipping--

let me know if you find it and I'll come over and with a pack of beer and $5.75!

This is a pretty good option and good seller:

I replaced mine with a "good used " wiper linkage and it became sloppy not too long after. Apparently, upgrading your wiper arms to 4runner arms is a huge improvement also.

Thanks! That's a great option.

Currently making a set of sleeves to replace the old cast aluminum ones. If they're still sloppy after my trip I'll be looking into that 👍

I'm curious as to what you are doing, post a pic of the buggered pieces

Would ‘Oilite’ Bushings help? There’s a shop on Government that has some in stock for $1-2 each.

It's replacement available from Amayama for $170 Canadian. But you'd get the whole linkage assy.
Not too bad. Try the piece you are making, but this is an option.
I wasn't sure what you were talking about earlier, I thought I did but thanks for the pics.

Don't even get me going on the putz's from Toyota.

Just be sure to use dissimilar metals for smooth action.

That's an impressive amount of wear.

I'm guessing your truck didn't come from a desert region haha

Used to make bushings for rudder shafts by mixing epoxy with grahite. Wax the bejesus out of the shaft, pour in the mix, and hope like hell you can get it apart when it hardens

Mainly used to take up slop in old worn tubes where the rudder would lump back and forth. Would probably work to fix up an old set of those pivots, but your new ones look pretty slick.

update, new piece fit great and is working flawlessly. lubed it with silver grade antiseize for smooth action
Well done - great to hear that you got this sorted with some ingenuity as opposed to shelling out cash.
