No leak, just ugly looking, and the sealant or adhesive too old.?looks like some kind of adhesive used during install. Does it leak?
The more I look at it. I believed it's the adhesive used to seal it getting old. It's parked outside on the California mountain for over 7 years. Is that trapped dust? Judging by your windshield, you're in a dusty environment.
I will look into getting the seal, for future replacement.Looks ugly. But if it doesn't leak, run it unless your OCD dictates otherwise. The seal is still available, though that could change at anytime.
If your windshield is beat up, swap them both out before either becomes NLA.
That's my two cents.
Yes, it's 20 years old, and parked outside for over 7 years.Mine is like that. I think it’s like 20 years old. Ripping it out and replacing with new in the next day or so.
Thanks, I will do that and go from there.Mine does that since I got a new window installed. It's residue from the adhesive. I scrape it off lightly with a razor blade when it starts looking crappy. Seems to be less each time and longer intervals between cleanings.
If it isn't leaking I wouldn't worry about it but that's me.No leak, just ugly looking, and the sealant or adhesive too old.?
