Using new seal and oem windshield. Looks like the pros seal outer edge in picture before install. I am worried about making a complete mess if I do that.
Has anyone applied sealant around seal and windshield frame after its installed?
If I have to apply before install what sealant has a good working life ie not 1 hour fast cure!
3M Window Bedding Compund is what you're looking for here. It comes out as a kind of tarry paste with peanut butter consistency. It takes hours to cure, can be easily cleaned with mineral spirits and never cures fully hard.
Had the windshield installed today 'cuz the old one was cracked and very pitted and was driving me nuts. There are a few threads on replacement, but none have all the info in one place, and since some materials have changed or become NLA, I'd thought I update the info and post the process here. Also, this THREAD is my futile search for a quality non-Chinese window. OE Toyota glass at roughly $1100 was not in da budget.

I went with CRL 7708 for seal to body. It seems all the urethanes are fast cure and that concerned me being the install takes awhile. I sealed glass to window seal seam with urethane.
