What's the easie t way to wire up a 12v winch on a 24v system. This install will be going on either a HZJ77 or and HDJ81. I know I can purchase a 24v winch but I'm sure those are more costly and less available in the US

HDJ81 is 12 volts. If you have a 24V system get a 24V winch.

Doesn't the HDJ81 run two 12v batteries though, I'm just trying to get my ducks in a row I've got an opportunity to purchase both models and when the time comes I just want to be able to order what I need.
HDJ81 has two 12V batteries and the entire truck is 12V with the exception of the starter. It has a series parallel switching system to provide the starter with 24V.

So them to wire the winch do you pull positive off one battery and negative off the other?
You use a 12V winch and wire it to the main battery.

Thank you for your responses! How do you determine the main battery?
Main battery is on the driver's side of a RHD HDJ81. Don't wire any accessories to the other battery as it sees 24V on starting.

You can also swap motors on an existing winch for a 24V model or take a 12V motor into a shop and they will convert it to 24V for you.
