Build Wife just bought a BJ71, I have many questions!

Just a thought on the noise, I had a noise on the passenger side with the windows down, ended up being the seat belt flicking in the wind hitting on the trim as the retractor wasn't pulling it all the way up. Congrats on the buy.
I wish it was that easy! I have it narrowed down to something in the window channel most likely in the drip channel. I'm hoping that we don't have to replace the entire window channel weather stripping to resolve the issue.

Nice score! I looked real hard at that one, but in the end fell for the longer wheel base and lockers. But also a bit more work, but that's the the fun part.
Yeah, I made the wife drive this one at CruiserFest a few weeks ago. After that it was all over! Lol During our second, longer test drive the wife named the vehicle. At that moment I knew this would be parked in the driveway soon! Lol It's super clean and is just a blast to drive! I had it today and it's just so fun, it reminds me of a simpler time when you would just take a drive for fun. Plus it's so mechanical that I can actually do some maintenance on the vehicle.

that is what owning a pre 80 series diesel is all about, simplicity and the time warp to a less complex time.

Commonly referred to as "old school" ..... A set of pliers and duct tape is all you need in your toolbox. :)

for you, old school means 4 legs and a buggy with horse farts for a heater ...
;)

When the average American citizen is asked to describe Canada, the answer is quite often, those folks are so nice.
I'm starting to think that is a myth. :)

oh it is true, you should see my "not so nice" side.

.....you should see my "not so nice" side ..........
You're probably just constipated (comes with advanced age) ..... need more fiber in your diet.

We are actually down in south utah county, but the wife works in Draper. You have a shot of seeing it down there since this has become her DD.

I live in riverton so hopefully I will be lucky enough to see it on the road someday!

So, the wife is still having a blast driving Toko around, but it has come to my attention that the leaf springs are D E A D! Fortunately Jason at Trail Tailor is going to begin selling Tough Dog lifts so we are going to give that a try. We replaced the shocks when she bought it, but the springs are in some desperate need of attention. Plus, if we get a bit of a lift out of it all the better!

Nice rig you have
What is the difference between tough dog and OME?

Thanks

Alvaro

For cup holders, source a parade (lj78) shift surround consol. Factory square cup holders x2

Different manufactures, but IIRC they both originated in Australia. Correct @reevesci ?

C,

Designed in Australia, Tough Dog leaf springs offer a spring pack for just about any application you might require. Our springs are a proven performer in any situation.

Tough Dog leaf springs are a truly progressive rate leaf spring. Each leaf is set slightly higher than the leaf above so there is contact along the whole length of each leaf. There are single stage and two stage springs available for different applications. Primary and secondary stage leaves ensure that the vehicle’s ride remains uncompromised. As the spring is compressed under load, the heavier second stage leaves come into play to prevent excessive sag & remove high stresses from the primary stage.
  • Precision mandrel & die-formed
  • Oil quenched, hardened & tempered for maximum life.
  • Military wrap for safety
  • Accurately heat-treated
  • Manufactured from high grade spring steel
  • Anti-friction pads in most applications
  • Pre-stressed to maintain ride height
  • Diamond cut ends
  • Load rate tested
  • 2 year/40,000km warranty
The Tough Dog shocks are the game changer for me over most all others out there. Plus, several options to choose from depending on your intended needs.

I run the 53mm foam cells on front and 45mm 9 stage adjustables on the rear of my 100. 41mm foam cells on the wife's 80. 40mm 9 stage adjustables will be going on my 60 as soon as they arrive.

Hmmm, looky what I picked up today! Toko is about to get a bit taller! It's about time to replace the original (flat) springs. I can't waoit to get all of this installed and feel the difference in ride quality!

A huge "THANKS" goes out to @reevesci aka Jason at Trail Tailor for hooking us up!
