RED - Nicest tube style carrier I have but its inventory purge time. Hinges and latch all move freely but it does have one broken lug stud (see last pic), easy fix or leave it be and just use two nuts to hold the spare. Seems to have been blasted and primer coated by a PO about 20 years ago. Sitting in a barn ever since.
$300 shipped

BLACK - Very nice like the Red one. Top hinge froze bottom hinge needs needs a weld but it moves free. See pic.
$250 shipped

GREEN/GREY - Custom RH made from a LH. Both hinges are moving free. Some surface rust. See pics
$150 shipped

Just curious, how do you know it’s off a late model Land Cruiser? I’ve heard there is a difference between a +79’ and 78’ and older. Not counting the super old square ones.

that is a 76-79, the 79-83 is different

They added a vertical tube by the hinges.
And the hinges are different than the earlier ones.
Thank you. Will update the title.

Deleted non-accurate info from the SOR site :bang:

This is 8/76 to 5/80. The extra vertical bar was added mid 1980 model. I installed one of my early tube tire carriers on my 3/79 because it was in better condition. Bolted on witn no problem. The hinge spacing changed 5/80 as well as the bolt pattern on the upper hinge I believe.

Thanks for the additional info. I updated the title again :)

@pardion or @Living in the Past here are a couple more carriers I have to sell off. The passenger side one has a different tube structure that the driver side ones. Is this the late 5/80+ style you guys mentioned?

Not a later model rack. Custom passenger side made from a drivers side rack. I did this years ago on mine with a shelf for ice chest.
Very interesting, thanks for the info!

Those 76 plus racks are way better than the earlier heavy racks.
Holding a 38x14.5x18 spare. I did move the tire mount inward so the tire does not stick out. Added an axle stub, spindle and hub.
The right side is flipped around and tire rack removed, then a shelf added.
Sorry about my flat fender in the photo.
Your racks should sell quickly!

@pardion Interesting and very cool setup. That black rim the spare is on looks good, what brand and size is it?
