I'm a value guy. It's the reason I'm in a 200, not because I'm rich by any means. If you're worried about depreciation and the "bottom" don't buy at the top. For example someone was looking at a 2014 w/ albeit high miles for around $45k (80k miles) - truck is 3yo. At the bottom, you can compare to a late year 100 series w/ 150k miles, often selling for $20k+ as this truck is now 20 years old and hard to come by in good condition w/ reasonable miles. 200k mile 100s can still fetch $10 - 15k if mint. Given the spike in base price of the 200 it's a hard proposition vs the LX - less LCs on the market in the future, less supply and I think we can all agree there will be a lot of demand for used 200s as the 80s and 100s start to retire. So even if $20k on the bottom for a 20yo 200 series, you're spending $25k to drive it over the next 10yrs/100k miles. So drive an $80k truck for $2,500/yr? I'm in. I'm sure there are other platforms in which this works, but not that provide all the capabilities, and reliability of a LC.
