Maybe it is just my imagination. But at least around Atlanta i feel like i see more built 60/62s than 80s. There are a good number of nice 60s running around Atlanta are. I just dont feel like i see a lot of 80s Why is this? The one possibility is that i notice every 60 that roles by and that most of the 80s are run of the mill mall crawlers that dont catch my eye. Are the 60/62 cruisers more popular to modify than the 80s? Will the 80 series get more popular to build as time goes? I figure they are already pretty cheap Not sure why they would not be more popular. I do have to admit that the 60/62 is a very nice classic body style.

Maybe you are just lucky.

Seeing a 60 or 62 seems to be a rare sight anymore for me, but I regularly see built 80s and mall-crawl 80s around. When I last looked at the trucks registered for GSMTR, about twice as many 80s were registered compared to 60s. It would be easy enough to confirm that, but it would only be an indicator anyway. Have you been to any meetings or events to get an additional perspective for yourself?

No i have never been to any meeting. I would love go to some but i am heading out of town for 5 months to explore Wyoming. I will completely admit that it might just be that i notice EVERY 60/62 that roles by and most 80s go unnoticed. Most 80s are bone stock and just a "old car" to the owners. But i still look out for them. Hell i look at 4Runers and FJ Cruisers. But here in Atlanta there a good number of nice looking 60s roiling around. Probably the same 6-12 that i see all the time. I have only seen a few built 80s except for when i go by ACC of something. But i guess it is the same with the FJ and 4Runners. There is a built FJ that ALL trail dented up that i see and a 1st gen 4Runner with a fabric roof. The 4Runner often has a down hill style MTB hanging out the back. So i guess i do notice some of the same trucks over and over. Mostly around midtown, Inmanpark, L5P area.

I dont see very many of either on a regular basis, but I would have to say I see more 80's that 60/62's. I always look at the driver of 80s when I pass them and typically they have no clue I am also in an 80 :meh:

BTW- What are you doing out in Wyoming?

Nick- that's been my observation with almost every TLC around Gainesville. A couple other 80 drivers and I have chatted, but I've seen some nice 40's and 60's in the area. I wave and they don't even notice, and my 80 isn't exactly unnoticable.

Conversely I got a thumbs down from a jacked up 4 door Wrangler the other day. He must have felt emasculated.

Saw this guy just south of Pilgrim Mill on 400 northbound on Monday, was a very clean 62.
