Could be that. Maybe exhaust fumes and the moisture contained therein?

I believe not so much the fuel door, but all the lines going through the bottom of that panel to get the fuel to the tank and all the vent lines going through it. The rubber grommets get old and leak water, then dirt gets in and it lays there all wet.

Mine is way more rotten on the driver side with said grommets being crispy, very odd because usually old rides here rot out on the curb side, theory being that is where the salt & runoff hangout and keep it wet.

I'll take a set. Finally after 2 years got my brother's 1970. Need more than just rear corners but it would be a start.

Bob’s new floor pans should be going in over the next few days. I haven’t heard from Bob when the quarters will be available. If the quarters arrive in the next few weeks, they’ll go in next. Otherwise, the body’s coming off and going on the rotisserie.
