Well, I'm affraid my cruiser is still recovering from Colorado. Crankshaft is shot and I am trying to figure what I can afford to get it fixed. Guess I'll just have to go to homecoming that weekend (north) instead of our first major event(south). Sorry my 40 won't be there for you folks to wrench on the trails. Hope someone takes many photos.

A couple Q’s for those in the know….

I’ve never been there before so pardon my ignorance ;)

1- Camping at the park: I understand it is first-come first-serve. What are the sites like? Divided up? Or grouped together? I’m planning on showing up around 7-8 Thursday evening (just getting dark). The reason I ask is because I don’t want to set up camp in an inappropriate spot. (It’s happened to me before—my bro and I arrived at an event like this in Wisconsin after dark and unwittingly set up camp on a trailhead. We woke up to a lot cussing & laughter.) Anyone willing to save me a good spot?

2- Is there air available at the park? I hate to mooch off people more prepared than I.

Matt

Any place you drop a tent is a camping site..... There's nothing parked, just find a flat piece of ground and you'll be fine.

There's a gas station about 1.5 miles from the camping area. We'll also have CO2 and Yorks available.... no worries there.

Romer and Nakman are coming

I " Hope " I'm in, as registration is now closed apparently. Chris check went out on Mon to addy you provided. In relation to the camp sites, open fires ok? Not some rip roaring bon fire, but something to do some cooking on, make coffee in the am sort of thing. Will be traveling lite, as a 40 with a full back seat dosen't give you much room for much " junk ". Looking forward to this, Al

Poser has a double-wide sleeping bag, you can bunk with him;)

Actually looking forward to meeting you. If that makes a difference. You drink bourbon?
Heh.

I'll be there too

In the end it seems that I will be able to come - although only for a day.
My LX450 is still stock, so I'm not planning on wheeling it, but want to meet people, shoot some pics, drink some

Tim (Terbe),

I still owe you a case of beer - any particular preference?

Andrew (KC Cruiser),

What time are you starting on Friday?
I'll be leaving on Friday too.
BTW I'm in Shawnee.

If it helps at all, I drink Shiner Bock, given that I "let" you sign up late and all. :-)

I guess, since you did let me sign up sooooooooooo late, I should express my gratitude in some way...:beer::beer:
I think I will have enough space for an extra case of Shiner Bock... or two

My flight returns from Chicago around 2:40PM, I hope to be on the road by 3:30-4:00. If that's not too late for you we can meet up and follow each other down.

Let me know.

3:30-4:00 PM will be just fine.
Just give me a holler at my cell (PM'ed) once you land.
Where do we meet? My house, your house, some place else?

I just replied to your PM, I'm around 87th and I-435 so we're not too far apart. I'll give you a buzz on Friday.

Glad you are going to make it!

I haven't had a case of beer in the past 5 years if you put them all together...but I would most definitely like to set at a fire and have one with you.

I'm getting in Thursday AM some time - leaving Sunday morning. I'll be able to find you 'cause I know what you ride looks like
