While trying to rid the P0401 CEL...I learned I am dumb

The real hero is this pair of angled pliers.

First off it is IMPOSSIBLE to reach this going from the driver's side. No way in hell I don't care what gets removed. I instead removed the EGR modulator and saw a hose which you see in the pick (arrow). THAT little bastard is the hose I needed. Well... I needed to remove the modulator bracket to get my hand in. Trying to pull the hose off with my hand while balancing on a step stool was pretty close to guaranteeing I was gonna impale myself on the threaded rod of the air cleaner.

I used the angled pliers and grabbed hold and the hose slid right off. The drill bit, amazingly, was still stuck. So I used a tiny allen wrench to push it there and there it popped out!!!!!!

Of course now I have a vacuum leak where the drillbit had pushed through the vacuum hose from me being a complete retard trying to push the drillbit through. I guess I will get some tomorrow :D

CASE SOLVED!!!!

Congrats on getting the drill bit out!.....

Now fix that leak! ...the saga continues :flipoff2:

Did you fix the leak yet? You can plug the hole with the drill bit... just my 2 cents. I laughed hard reading this and just.... had to bump.

I learn from your demeanor... great attitude and love your Mod list in your sig line which brought me here!

thanks!

And now i get to enjoy the 401 coming back. :whoops:

Last night. Ugh.

nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I pulled a stupid one last week when I redid my oil pan to fix a leak. After all was said and done I grabbed my funnel stuck in the hole and began to fill it, not watching what I was doing. Soon found oil all over the truck, floor hands etc. I forgot to take out the paper towels I always stick in the funnel it to keep it clean! To make matters worse I could swear I saw a piece of towel go down the oil fill. :bang:

Hehehe. Bump. Always good to laugh at(with) someone else. Means they are not laughing at me.
I used to lump furniture part time to keep fit and earn a little on the side. The ties were all lined up along the inside of the truck so as to be readily accessible including a special tie to hold the blankets in place. This had been unmoved for 20 years until I came along. The boss laughed till tears come out his eyes. So it takes one to know one:deadhorse::flipoff2:
