Naw I am going to go km3. Size will be 275 70 18 I believe. I'm trying to wait til July or august for my funds to replenish. I believe I messed up my ahc this past weekend so I'll be getting a lift and tires sooner than expected. I'd like to go 34"
But I feel it's gonna need a re gear with anything past a 33".

FYI: With you having a 06 LX, you have the VVT and 5 spd trans. Don't be afraid of going up in tire size. Not telling you to put on 35's, but a 34" tire or so is not going to require re-gear. I have a 05 LX, non-vvt/5spd, and I installed 305/65-18 and they really didn't harm the power range at all. Just keep an open mind and don't under-size your tires and kick yourself later. Follow your gut !!!!!

Update:

Got the 275/70r18 Ridge Grappler installed. Got old Penny up to 80-85mph on the freeway, no more crazy shimmy in the steering wheel at any speed. Had all the power back like stock. But what a disappointing sight after the gnarly 295/70s lol I'm sure the 99.9% of my daily driving comfort will win me over with these tires.

@pjm10626 if you're not sensitive with a slight power loss, I would definitely step up to a larger tire and get all the benefits. With the 5spd/vvti combo, I would have stayed with a large 34 all day.

guess a 295 70 18 bfg km3 will work dang, i thought my mind had been made my mind up. now to determine what suspension replacement i want for the ahc.

I had ordered a set of 255/85/16 Cooper ST MAXX’s from Discount Tire after reading everyone’s reviews here on MUD but didn’t pick them up right away. The other day I called about picking them up but there is a nationwide drought.

Long story short, I ordered five KM3’s in the same size. They were $10 more but the Manager discounted them for me :)

Hopefully the road hum won’t be a problem.

@rampantwolf Cant wait to see the pictures!
I am considering 255 coopers next with 1.25 wheel spacers. We will see.

I just installed the tough dog 2in kit from trail tailor and absolutely love it! The ride is great, not overly stiff at all. It rides pretty damn close to oem with a slight upgrade in firmness. No nosedive when braking, no more body roll around corners. Just feels good all around. Haven't had an opportunity to take it off road yet, that will be the true test, but after reading about so many complain about the harshness of the OME kits I went a different route and I'm extremely pleased with the results! Best of luck in your tire and now lift search, it's a rabbit hole for sure.

I LOVE my ToughDog lift as well. It's most excellent offroad. I've taken it on a ton of corrugated gravel routes here in TX and can confirm that the suspension handles those scenarios exceptionally well. It soaks up everything and never gets tired. I can take turns on corrugated gravel at speed and the tires stay planted. Gotten airborne flying over cattleguards and the suspension just eats it up. Doesn't compress to hard on the ramp-up and rebound is perfect on the landing. Can't wait to stretch this suspension's legs in Colorado at HIH8.

so i don't have much experience with them but my brother lives by the general gabber at... he has had really good luck with them... has anyone dealt with them much.... i am running some hankook dynapro at's at the moment and my 4runner has the stt's max on it... and i like both of them... my brother has had some bad luck with cupping with stt's and ended up giving them to my dad but my dad and i both really like them... i just wondered what people thought of the general tires

I have just always had great luck with the KO2 and hear great things with the KM2 and KM3. Hard to go wrong with BFG Offroad tires.

The plot thickens...my Discount Tire rep called me today and said he can’t get the KM3’s in my size (255/85/16) until March of 2019 :( and they are
out of stock nationwide on the Cooper ST Maxx’s. What to do... what to do ???

Glad you posted. I am saving for these tires currently and my online order says it will take about 4-5 days for delivery. I haven't heard or ask the dealer to ship them so I don't know the supply issues with Coopers.

well guys got the tires installed today.

Km3 275 70 18. The 34(295) isn't offered just yet so the 33" will have to do for this round. Ignore the lo mode and dirtyness of the lex. Also noticed after I got home the goof balls put the weights on the outside and also seems to be a lot of weight too so will be going back. Enjoy my pictures. Will report after I get some miles on them but so far so good and they do clear in lo mode haha glad to prove the tire techs wrong.

Just chatted with a guy at BFGoodrich about the available sizes for our 16” rims

“We have 265/75R16, and 285/75R16 along with 305/70R16, 315/75R16.”

Went yesterday to correct weight issue, "we are too busy". Also got a "well if we put them on the inside it'll take more weight", i dont care what you have to do, make it right. It seems a quality tire such as BFG wouldnt need much weight at all but this is my first true mud tire so that may be why. Will try again Thursday since I'm off.
