Which relay is which

I have a 93 and am trying to determine if this fuse which I bought, a used one, works on my vehicle. My wipers went totally out but the motor moves them when electricity is given straight to the motor. Or is my only wiper relay in the switch that is connected to the steering column?

You probably want to post this in the 80 section

Personally, I wouldn't trust the Haynes manual for anything and Chilton even less. It'd be easier if you downloaded the FSM; the diagram is kinda big.

For Sale - 40, 50, 60, and 80 series FSM for a hell of a price.

Here's the relevant section though.

As for the internal operation of the relay, I'm not aware of any Toyota documentation that shows it.
If I had an inop relay to safely destroy (safely as in, without wasting a good part), it would be pretty easy to figure out.

@jfnall - back to your original question about which relay is the wiper control, the answer is "none of the above."

The location changed from on the relay block on the driver firewall to a bracket just above the accelerator pedal
in 4/85 (11/84 for BJ60's). With the location change, the part number changed from 85940-90A01 to 85940-90A04.

The part number changed again for the FJ62 to 85940-90A09, but the location doesn't appear to have changed. This is the part shown above at Cruiserparts.net.

The pins/plugs don't look like they're compatible between 90A04 and 90A09, but the good news is that the plug and wiring for 90A04 is accessible. It should be possible to adapt another relay if that's the only option.

@Steve83, the wiring diagram is in the very back of the 84-90 Body Chassis FSM.
How in the world do you access that to replace it..??
