Which 2 Barrel Carb will give me the best MPG for my FJ40 with a 2F engine

I'm a realistic sort... I have no idea what mileage I get... I'm careful to carry enough gas, in two tanks, to get me to where I'm going and still get to a place to gas up again.

I do know the mpgs ain't great... But, I pay for the pleasure!!

Both JimC and Mark have rebuilt my '78 Aisin carbs... Both rebuilds were excellent!!

But, I also had Mark apply the performance enhancements he has learned, in his lifetime of rebuilds, and I have to say, the power I get, while running the "Mark performance carb" is impressive, to say the least!!

With Mark's enhancements, I can easily cruise at 70mph, with 31x10.5x15 tires... And, as many of you know, I travel with a heavy load of "stuff" and 1-2 large dogs.

But, I also know that, when cruising at 70mph, the fuel gauge needle races to the bottom... So, I try to drive like @cruiserkev's grandma.

You can be happy with the fact that you are one of the few who are actually able to enjoy an FJ40... Or, you can drive an economic, plain Jane DD... Or, you can do as @Poser suggested and do both... and SMILE!!

Please don't drive like MY grandma Danny! She was barely able to see over the dash but tore around town like Cruella de Ville with road rage. It was much safer to walk, as a kid in the 70s, than ride with granny! ;)
