Where to put that Power Tank...?

Dan, that's a slick installation. Does the bottle fit tightly enough so it doesn't rattle around off-road? What happens if you decide to travel with the rear seats folded forward?

Does anyone have pics of a Power Tank installation in the back of a Cruiser that doesn't have a raised load floor? Thanx.

Greg is correct. The Powertank bracket is bolted to the inner back wall of the box using 6 5/16 inch bolts and "T"nuts. The box is bolted to the drawer case with 2 5/16 bolts and "T"nuts and 1 8mm bolt going into the outer seat bracket captive nut on top of the wheelhouse. It DOES NOT move one bit.

Here are a few views of the finished product. The tank is secured in the box by the Powertank aluminum bracket. There is no movement at all unless you grab ahold of the tank handle and really torque on it. The hose reaches all 4 corners easily and the tank can be pulled out by flipping the second row seat back down in just a few seconds. All-in-all I am quite pleased with the results.

Good eye. It is 1/4 inch 6061 tempered. The sheet weighs 23 lbs and is secured to the gate with 6 mm counter-sunk machine screws. I set 6 mm Nutserts in the original clip holes. The gate is much sturdier now and the Coleman stove can sit on it without starting a fire

Now there is a mod my rig needs. At least thats what I'll tell the wife.

Dan - That really looks good all finished. Its hard to tell from the pics, but are the drawers and powertank holder covered in carpet or is that some of that spray-on speckled stuff you can get at Home Depot?

Actually that is bulk "carpet" material that I purchased from our supplier of dash mats. They will sell it in bulk by the foot. It is the same stuff that they make dash mats out of. IIRC it is 39 inches wide.

I attached it with a 3M product that is a spray on contact cement.

Here is my set up, with 20lb tank. The mount is angle iron to cup the tank, welded to a back plate and gusseted on the sides.

Not to hyjack the thread, but you are very correct about safety glasses. I was grinding on some sliders (without safety glasses, friggin' idiot) and got steel in my eye. Had to get it pulled out and then the area of my eye had to be grinded away where the steel had rusted. So folks, where your safety glasses! This is not a joke. I am lucky, you may not be so lucky.
