Correction: like Waffle House; don't like waffles. Or Huddle House. :D

TJK

Waffle House is legit. Especially if you get a good crew that yells the orders out without writing anything.

I don't eat waffles either. Waste of calories.

Give me bacon.

Driving home from a Grateful Dead concert some (many) years ago, we ate at a Waffle House in Indiana that had won the Best Third Shift award numerous times - plaques all over the walls. It was 3 AM and the place was absolutely rocking. Almost looked choreographed. Or so I recall....

What is the must have dish?
What's your second favorite I can have the wife try (ie I can eat:p)

Not sure I can help you on the 'favorites', but I'll provide some feedback nonetheless.

We've been fans of PM for a few years. I enjoy eating 'foodie' type stuff that you don't see everyday, but to be honest I can't interpret a fraction of what's printed on the menu. I always opted to just bypass the menu and order the special...no matter what. Two trips ago that resulted in some ridiculous pork belly dish with sides of turnip greens and home made mac and cheese. It was pretty amazing.

That was until about a month or so ago. The last time we were there the menu was completely different, and this new menu was somehow justification for them to not prepare a special that night. I ate scallops, and the wife had the redfish. Both were good, but a big let down compared to the previous pork belly trip.

It's a neat place, and we love the atmosphere. If you don't mind sitting at the cold bar you can get a pretty good view of the going ons in the kitchen.

My 2 cents - it's worth the trip if you've never been.

thanks fountain...good intel

Parlor market

NY Times photog was there focused on one couple who were posing so I may make a background shot.

Overall......impressed

Hereford Filet, medium was the 2nd best steak I have ever put in my mouth
Atmosphere was awesome ( except downtown parking and creepy homeless guy)
Service was excellent

We had and loved wedge salad, Colorado lamb rack, Carolina trout, and short rib ( unreal)

The winner was ......Affogato was as good as cafe du mond, lemon ice box was 8-10, walk down memory lane was ok ( cool points for concept)

It's expensive and owner died shortly after opening so it may not survive but it would crush everything if it was in Madison.

Perfect combo...nice real nice. Are were a stones throw away from the casa. My liquor store is right next too Gibson's.

Yep. I had a guy with me or I would have been social

I usually avoid places with as much hype but it delivered x10
