There is no reason to wait in line or leave the Quarter for good food.
Have a plan and a 2nd option if you show up and there is a line. Screw that. Too much good food in NO to wait in line.

Moderate/high price lunch....Palace Cafe. It is so awesome. Probably my favorite dinner place in NO....lunch is a bit more reasonable. Top Shelf.
I like Redfish Grill....on Bourbon. First block off Canal. Nice moderate place for lunch.

Good not great, but they have perfected the art of consistency.
Gyro, turkey melt, cottage fries...pick your poison - it's always exactly like it was the previous times you've gotten it.
I'm not a fan of the new venue, but the food hasn't changed so we'll keep going.

If anyone ever in Kansas City Mo: Arthur Bryant's BBQ making relly good BBQ since early 1920's also in Olathe KS Joe's BBQ .Mexican Food (authentic)Guadalajara cafe in Kansas City MO.And last but not least Brookville Hotel Family style chicken dinners AWESOME fried chicken in Abiline KS 
My daughter is working on her masters in Kansas so this spring break going to try to hit some of this restaurant's while visiting. Can't wait.

They just opened one on Lakeland. I wonder if they moved for lower rent.
Yep same crap as in the last place. Overpriced beef and fish. Go to Table 100 or better yet, drive 5 miles farther to Nicks or Walkers.
agree food is WAY over priced ($20 salad...really?) table 100 is 300 yards away and is WWAAY better.
New Nicks is lacking in my opinion...walkers is always on the money.
Walkers tries to cram too much s*** into one item... rosemary safron lavendar chedder cheese asparagus grits crusted cabbage wrapped blackened red fish...... with almond infused red wine sauce.
I prefer old nicks to new nicks.

If you want busy and a stupid menu, go to Parlor Market.
Walker's is fine dining at night. If you want the same ole same ole, the steak houses are where to go.
Nick's got rid of the guy that was running the kitchen just after they moved to the new location....he was from Mosca's in NO and was a dip****. The new guy is taking it back to it's roots.
I don't go to Walker's much since 463 is so much closer but I think Derek Emerson is a great chef and if you get a bad meal there he is not in the house.

We go to walkers because my wife loves it. I like my food simple but good. Haven't been to 463 yet. Haven't been to Nicks in about a year. I'll have to get over there and give them another try.
I know Parlor Market doesn't get a lot of love on this thread, but I was there again last night and had another wonderful meal. We had and shared:
Dozen raw Chesapeake Bay oysters
Rabbit meatballs
Seared duck breast (wild game special)
Hanger steak and eggs
Charcuterie plate that had salami, duck bologna, mac and cheese terrine, beef & pork terrine, homemade pickles, and pickled green beans (I was sad the duck breast prosciutto wasn't on the plate this time around, but they do everything in-house so it rotates).
I don't know of anyone else in Jackson serving this type of food. I'm all for the staples like Shapley's, Walker's, and Nick's. And I like the newer joints like Ely's and Ro Chez, but none of them are making this type of food at this level.
