Looks like I don't have that bracket either...

Got to love (otherwise there would be more deceased) POs :)

cheers,
george.

Are those threaded bosses on the under side of the lower half of intake clamshell. They look to be but That Second pic is looking between the halves where the VSVs live. It should be straight down from those but under the lower half of intake.

You won't see the filter from the direction of your pictures, the filter is BELOW the intake, just behind the oil filter. Get UNDER the vehicle and take some pictures looking UP under the intake. There's a reason why the filter is somewhat of a pain to access... Fortunately it rarely needs to be changed in the US... we don't generally fill from a 44g drum in this country :)

cheers,
george.

The first picture is under the intake, the second pictures the absence of the bracket/brace illustrated here:

I don't wheel super hard but it seems like a piece of support.

Well, the bracket is a good idea, it stabilizes the mass of the intake from vibrating around.

You are right, the 1st pic clearly shows the fuel filter is MIA. You'll need to follow the hardline (hose??) that comes of the rear of the injector rail to see where it goes. Possibly the PO cut the banjo ends off the hardline sections and hoseclamped to hoses to a relocated fuel filter somewhere else. Maybe the PO adapted things to a generic/cheaper filter etc. You'll need to explore where the hoses go to find out what has been done... Good luck :)

cheers,
george.

Holy crap! That is what its looking like. There may not be a fuel filter anywhere in line for all he know.

was under last night trying to find if it was relocated any closer to the tank. Looks like the answer is no. Got paid today so order going in to beno for the fittings. No telling how long it's been off the truck. I was originally looking for it to swap in a new one as my rig is hesitating while accelerating...when it rains it pours, ha ha...:(...:crybaby:

^ so the PO cut the hard lines (that have the banjos on each end of the filter and just run some hose to connect the two ends together or what??

cheers,
george.

Seems possible that your injectors are clogged since the fuel filter was deleted, might have to pull them and send them in for service.

To be honest I haven't been able to spend much quality time under the hood tracing lines. From what little looking I've been able to do it seems that the fuel line goes straight from the tank/pump hardline to the fuel rail via fuel line. So, yeah.

Yeah, been thinking the same. Any recommendations on injection service providers?
