im up in Wa state and am willing to drive into canada if i can find a good deal on one. where are they coming from and what would the cost be on one if i drove up and picked it up? any registering problems bringing it back? were the ones you guys got shipped to you road worthy right off the trailer?

thanks
mike

Go here http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/M101CDN/ . There are several places that sell them. Also do a search on this forum. In the past people have mentioned were they got theirs. I picked mine up at Cold War Remarketing in Littleton, Colorado. Don't think they have any left.

Koffer has them here on this board but he is east Coast IIRC.

I bought mine from Koffer. The good thing about the M101 Canadians is that they are new enough that most are roadworthy as soon as you assemble it. I think they are typically shipped with the tires, fenders, and tongue off. It isn't too bad to assemble one.

I think the cost ranges from $ 650-1750 depending on location and condition. The availability is quickly diminishing it seems like.

M101's

Above it the M101-A2 3/4 tonne off road rated with surge brakes

Hey Mike - I asked Simon last week if the guy's had any left where he bought his (Abbotsford) and I went out last week to check them out - two left in the M101's I believe.

Deal is - $750 bucks as is with only slight surface rust but they're by no means rough. $100 more for sand blasting and another $100 for paint including rhino-lining. He offered to cut in a tail-gate also but you'd have to be patient as they're busy with movie set shoots.

I just got back from there an hour ago and went with a M101-A2 which is the 3/4 tonne off road rated - has hoops and wood slat sides all around, tail gate and tarp cover and on and on.. $1500 - he has a real beauty there with the surge brake on the pintle - completely frame up restoration done - it's a beauty $2800.00 - but it's really nice. (In the picture above - but id doesn't do it justice)

I went with the non-surge as the pintle has some twist to it for the trails - PM me and I'll give you his number - I'll be there next Wed. picking mine up if you want to meet up.

that sound like a fair deal to me, do you have any pics of the m101's? Im not really worried about the paint or bed liner just yet as i would do some significant cutting and welding before i went that route.

thanks again ill let you know if i need any more info just have to work on the funds right now

mike

P.S. we need to do a camping trip up north again maybe when its not raining so hard

do you have the dimentions of the tent? i have ezzi awn 1400 series just want to make sure its not to big for the trailer

These tents are 4x6' folded up and about 10" thick.

Hey Mike,

You can see the M101 above that was restored - these are identical though there is some very small amounts of surface rust - barely worth noting really. I didn't take any photos of those ones but Simon has a few - they are posted in one of the threads if you dig. Papered and ready to go - I doubt the guy is getting rich at $750 CDN.. really good rubber also. and to have them sandblasted and painted for $200 is awfully reasonable.. spares and tarps are really fair too.

Some pics of the A2 I'm picking up.. you can spot the hand brake and the stabalizer pivot at the back.

I believe that they are technically about 42 inches wide and 60 inches long. They fit very nicely with the M101 dimensions.
