When to replace Ignition coils. (2 Viewers)

I just replaced 2 coils that had pending codes for random misfires. I believe the one is possible a fake denso? I noticed it looked different when I rebooted the other coil packs and put it back together said wait for it to give me a problem. Didn’t take long.



Plugs were done about 1k miles ago. Will replace the other 6 later this weekend.

That was the one I pulled back out from PO. My new ones are oem from PartSouq

I have a 2004 and currently has 320,000 miles on it. I replaced them out of prevention and got Toyota parts from the dealer. Here is the pic of the 8 that came out:

While there were no codes, the LC ram noticeably better at light throttle.

I get mine from Rockauto, Denso for $50 a piece lately.

All coils were cracked, some more bloated than others, I knew this a month ago when I did plugs and put new boots on till I had a problem. Was always planning on replacing around 200k as PM so just moved up a bit early.
