Anyone have a spare set of wheels and tires I could borrow or rent for GSMTR? I tried to order some wheels but they are on back order and won't come in for at least 4 weeks! That's cutting it too close.

I haven't started any suspension on my pickup yet so all I'm running right now is a body lift. I could def fit 33s but I could probably fit 35s with some scrubbing/cutting/bending. :hillbilly:

1980 Pickup, 4WD, 20R

The alternative is just keep my fingers crossed and try to find something on CL before then.

ANYBODY!? BUELLER!?

What size and tread configuration are you looking for? With an '80 mini truck, you have the same back spacing as the 40/60/70 Cruisers which should open options.

I just need something for some mild wheeling at GSMTR. It doesn't have to be anything to extreme. Probably some 35 all terrains or mud terrains would be good. I got an offer to borrow some 38s but my truck isn't in any shape for that yet. As for the backspacing, that's the problem I'm having with the wheels. I wanted to get 17s but they don't make a 17 with 2.5 backspace. They're all special order and they basically have to make them when they are ordered.

I can offer something really good in return... check the sig line...

I need to re-measure the back spacing on my factory rims because I recall them being 3.25" rather than 2.5".

I don't have anything as tall as you are looking for. Sorry.

Humor side note at my expense ... If 35's are good for some mild wheeling, I need to accept that I am only up for bland wheeling. My wife and daughters are still laughing at me for bringing home the booby prize from GSMTR last year [they converted hard luck award into the booby prize or bad driver award ... revolving term]. If they realize my tires are too small, there is going to be whole new round of laughter in the house. I think I will keep quiet on this one except my person lol.

Pro Comp makes a 17 with a 2.5 backspacing...they are just hard to find...

Dang. What were you running? 30s? 31s? The backspacing on the wheels I have now is 3.25. They're not factory though. They're also too small and too skinny. 15x7 Boo.

I actually have a set of 33s (they're actually 305/60/17) which I'm going to run if I end up getting the 17s I originally wanted.

That's what I tried to order. They said 4 weeks because they were out of stock and they were going to have to make them. The original ones I wanted are supposed to be back in stock around April 9th or 10th. If I can't find anything by then I'm just going to order those. I've been looking all over CL too.

Yea the 2.5 in. backspacing in any of their wheels are hard to find. I am running their 15's with a 2.5 in. backspacing and it was a chore to try and find them cause they were back ordered. 4 Wheel Parts was really helpful with trying to find them...

I have a friend that has an nhra license and has an account at summit so that's who I've been going through. They had 2 of the 15x10s and 3 of the 15x8s in stock with 2.5 bs. They could ship the 4th 15x8 from Ohio but that still leaves me trying to get tires. I don't really want to buy 33s or 35s bc I'm going to drop the truck off at ACC after GSMTR to start on some suspension work and I'll prob end up with like 38s pretty soon.

33x9.5 BFG ATs for daily commuting; 34x9.5 TSLs for trails

Not too skinny for me; years of great service. The TSLs did let me down last year by popping beads, so the age of the tires may be making them too stiff for airing down any more. Replacements are probably in order.

I have a set of 35" BFG AT's on 15x10's I may be able to bring with me to GSMTR but they're up here in Memphis on a "yard" truck currently. I also know someone who, I think, still has a set or two of empty factory 17's he was trying to sell. One set was FJC wheels, the other was Chevy I think.

The 35s is a def possibility. I'll let you know.

As far as the OE wheels, I actually already had a set of the FJC wheels I was going to use but they are like 5" backspacing. They won't even go all the way on the studs before hitting the frame and the spring in the back. Also, the front won't go over the hub. It might fit with a little uh... modification... but the backspacing is still way too far off.

I ordered the other ProComp 17s with the 2.5 bs. Supposedly they are going to ship out first of next week. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
