I really like the SX's for a trail only tire, but I trailer my junk everywhere. I know there tough but they are hard (impossible) to balance... at least my last set was. I don't know anything about the TrXus.... haven't seen many on the trail

I thought it's pretty dificult to found a MTR type tire at this price range with the same performance ..

I like the Crawlers BFG look .. but whee17" and pretty expensive.

the 17inch wheel isnt what scares me away, its the price tag on the crawlers that do. I do love that tire though, just too much for my wallet

Truxus tire is pretty damn close to an MTR

Well unless other post up a say different I think its the Trxus tires for me. I really dont feel like driving 1200 miles on un-balenced tires. Although Im sure some SX's siped would be fun on the trail.

38.5 SX on a 10" wide wheel or 8" w/ beadlock.
My wheels are 2" backspace but that would get a little wide for a 60 axle. I trailer my rig so they dont see much road time but w/ a handfull of BBs in each they run fine on the road. The tread is hard enough that they wont wear out in a hundred miles of road driving. Either way it is hard to beat a well groverd SX in my opinion.

That being said the 39" Irock isnt a bad tire if you want something bigger and you wont break anything w/ 30 splines and Pig rears.

After watching/wheeling woodys rig and a couple other guys that run the rocker, I bought some today. I had sx's. Im interested in the difference. The Sx was awesome. Ive seen the Rocker hold some lines that I would have never beleived. Ill have to run them around town at about 4lbs for a couple weeks to break them in from what ive heard.

Picked up my SX's today..... Now to decide on a groove design

Suggestions (pics).......

I'll probably just keep it simple

I couldn't remember if you checked out my rubber :D at Asher's so here ya go. If you ignore my nice shiny head and concentrate on the tires you'll see the pattern I went with. When I get my replacements for the two that grew legs I'll use the same pattern but alternate the one groove and two groove on the inner and outer rows rather than the way it is now. Sounds complicated but not really.

They worked well in the Black Hills but Swampers in general work well there. Not that you drive them on road much but the grooving definitely changes the noise pitch, heck my SXs are quieter than road MTs.

We talked about the balancing and can discuss it more when I drop off the grooving iron.
