I just got my first LC. its a 2008. I love it. Big upgrade from a 4Runner. That said, I'd like a larger wheel, but still Toyota. I like the 20s from the Tundra and the 20s from the Sequoia Platinum. Can anyone offer any advice? Will they both easily fit without any further mods? Is there a reason to favor one over the other outside of style? Is there a good third option I don't know of? Thanks in advance.

Here's a pic of my 11 with the lx570 wheels with 275-60-20 and BBS tundra wheels powdercoated satin black with 305-50-20s (these are available, I have too many wheel sets)

Arich. Wow i love those lexus rims. Is there a "L" logo on them? Or did you replace that with something else?
I was initially most interested in the Sequoia Platinum rims.

I took the L off and replaced them with TRD emblems that I found.

The other wheels above I don't think are OEM. I have seen them in ebay and on a few Tundras on the forums.

Lexus wheels are expensive if you can find them.

What color is your truck?

Thanks arich. My LC is silver. I was also thinking of trying to find rims like these on a Sequoia Platinum.

I was looking to do the same switching to Tundra 20" from original 18" , I got tire pressure kit from e-bay , usual tire shop having a hard time uninstalling old and braking the holders. Then for some reason I went a different path - instead of mounting 20" to my 200LC I went and mount them to my LC100 my LC100 had 16". Very different ride feelings on 20" - more stiffer , so I will keep 18" on my LC200 as I like the softer ride .

Those have been done many times on the LC. Google "land cruiser platinum wheels".

A few ??
Where do you live?
Are these seasonal wheels and tires?

You know what looks nice on a silver Land Cruiser?

black BBS wheels that perfectly match the window trim in satin black!!

New thought. Am i better off buying an after market brand? I just saw a set of Black Rhino rims on an LC. They looked great. Any opinion on something like that versus a set of Sequoia rims? Are after market cheaper? Apologies if these are dopey questions. This is my first go with buying new wheels.

Lots of people have aftermarket wheels and love them. If you are not a OE snob, I say go for it. They can be had for much cheaper than OE wheels.

Just for reference, here is a pic of my OE 18" Tundra wheels on my truck:

Aftermarket wheels will provide more aggressive fitment options as the offset/widths on Toyota branded wheels (including TRD) tend to sit in-board quite a bit (conservative). It's tough to gauge in photos. In person, the difference in stance and look is palpable. If you're OK with the conservative look, then there's really no reason to go aftermarket as you're safer with Toyota than brand XYZ. If you're not OK with this look, then aftermarket because wheel adaptors (mistaken for spacers quite frequently) suck.

Key things to keep in mind w/ aftermarket wheels: 1) load rating; 2) fitment specs like width/offset/diameter); 3) hub-centricity; and 4) relative quality of the brand.

Many of the wheels you see on US 4x4 trucks are made in China and that's totally fine. More cash money in your pocket. We're not stress testing these with high G forces and temp cycles like on a Porsche 911 weekend racer.

If you really want top quality, you'll have to contact the Forgelines of the world to see if they'll make a custom spec wheel for you but that's at least $4K+ for a set. Made in China looks awfully good once real life 4x4 use case economics come into play.

Method, XD wheels, KMC, etc are popular brands. They're all made by the same handful of manufacturers. They simply brand them, market them, sell them.

If I had cash burning a hole, I'd custom spec a 17x9 18+ offset wheel from Forgeline. My $300 per Method Mesh wheels are 18x9 18+, load rated, use the center caps as hub centric rings and have been on point so far. Method Double Standards were on prior and they have 25+ offset which is essentially flush with the fender with my 325 width tires. Methods are quite popular with the Tacoma and Raptor crowd so vetted by enthusiasts. I believe they also make LC200 spec wheels called Method NV (these look fantastic to me btw, but I want 18+ offset thus Mesh).

Good luck.

Perhaps this goes without saying...but can i buy second-hand OEM Sequoia Platinum rims and use the stock tires? Or do I need to buy different size?

Resurrecting an old thread. @MScruiser, I found a set of these wheels locally. Any issues mounting them to your rig? How is the offset? Thanks!
