I might be crazy or looking at this wrong, but why on earth would there be a grounding strap between the clutch slave and the frame? I'm thinking it should be a starter ground and replaced! Yes, I am in the process of removing the shields for blasting and paint, 38 years of dirt and grime!

They most likely used the slave cylinder mounting bolt as the grounding point as such it works, but not something I'd do to my cruiser.

BTW your slave might have a small leak, probably time to replace.

The bolt was easy to get too. Not stock.

That's what I figured.. Like everything else, making a punch list for replacements. Mostly everything on here is original. Open the wallet and see the money fly away! haha.

Welcome to the slippery slope!
