What's my 1-owner, 1980, 4x4 pickup worth?

I purchased this Toyota mini-truck new in 1980 at the Palo Alto, CA dealership. Has 213,716 actual miles. Engine/transmission rebuilt August 1999 at 206,941 - 6,775 miles on the rebuild - a real "part-time" driver for the last 8 years or so. New in 80, this was a basic, stripped-down 4-speed 4x4 which only came with an FM radio (long gone now) and an optional rear bumper. All glass is original. I still have the original rear bumper plus an after-market Smitty-built. The original Dunlop SnowCruiser spare is still mounted on the original spare rim. The steel rims are all original and in good shape. I’ve put lots of time and new Toyota OEM parts into the truck over the last few years.

My son drove it for a while and when he tired of it and moved on, I rebuilt the engine/transmission and turned it into my hobby/backup vehicle. Driven about 6,775 miles in the last 8 years, and never really 4-wheeled (ever). Only off-road has been picking up a Christmas tree every year with the kids. I just bought a new (1978) FJ40, which now takes up most of my free hobby time so I’m thinking of selling the pickup. Runs well and stops – bit of a howl from the original rear diff over 70 on the freeway. Any opinions on what dollar amount I should try to get for this would be appreciated. If it’s not worth anything I may just keep it to haul cruiser parts around.

See more detail and photos at the link below - I'll be putting up more detailed photos that show the good as well as the bad as soon as I get them together.

it aint worth jack, you are better off giving it to me for $100.

I would keep it!
That truck is solid, I have loved the early mini's for a long time.
Most beds are rusted out or trashed..rusted frames etc.
If you get an insane offer sell it,if not please keep her on general principal!
Good luck on the decision

Yeah, no kidding. In fact, you probably should just pay me to take it off your hands:grinpimp:

Seriously, that's a great looking truck. I had a diesel Hilux just like that in Japan (an '84 IIRC) That truck take a beating and kept on going. Definitely a keeper!

Around here, about 10 bucks with out a/c, but then it's hottern hell. I have actually seen one cleaner, in Northern New Mexico deep in the Sangre De Cristos, an old codger driving, same color, was beyond spotless. In a mountain clime, an easy 3500-4000, maybe more. If I could have taken time to chase down the elderly party that had the white one, and had the money (lots of ifs there) it might have been worth five or more.

Man.... that thing is beautiful. I would seriously consider not selling that if I was you. Clean first gens are really hard to come by these days. IMO you will never get what that thing is really worth. That is a beautiful truck... just keep it. If you don't REALLY need the money I think you will thank yourself down the road for not getting rid of it.

that would be a keeper !! they are becoming more and more rare everyday that truck in the northeast in that shape would bring between 4k & 8k . nice truck and good luck
