How much is a running F motor out of a 69 pig worth. i have a chance to buy a complete pig that is completely shot other than the drivetrain, and was just wondering what a fair price would be. The motor seems to run good, no smoke or nocking. Thanks

How many miles on it? Is it completely stock or does it have aftermarket goodies - carb, headers or dizzy? I'd say ~$150.00 for a stock runner miles unknown. If it has upgrades & the miles are genuinely under 100K, I'd guess ~$300.00. Some would pay more, but not me ;p

SOR sells a used F for $1k. Given their usual over price on things like that, and because you have a little more recourse if it is a bum motor, I'd say $350-$500 since it includes the drivetrain, and probably has some little things that could be salvaged for another pig, or sold to all of us.

Given the difficulty of finding pig-specific parts, I'd give it some serious thought, unless there is nothing salvageable on it but the drivetrain.

I've given away a few F engines and that was tough to do. They are basically worthless unless you're restoring that truck and want to keep that engine. They are still solid engines but not worth much more than scrap.

Also, never base any prices off of SOR prices.

The pig is completely stock but in really rough shape. It has the grille, front fenders that are rusty on the bottom but have good uppers, it still has the front turn signals, the windshield is cracked, there is no tailgate, the front doors look salvageable, All of the interior is shot but all the dash and related components are there, and it does run and drive.

Should I offer the guy $400 then keep the motor and sell the rest?
Or should I put that money towards a 350 conversion?
