I'm trying to put together a list of tools for the 450 I would need on the trail. I have a very good idea on the FJ cruiser but for the 80's I'm not that sure. What spare parts? Etc. thank you for the input......

Parts... The given is.... bring an extra birf and rebuild kit with all the tools to do the work. I am putting rsv axles in, so I will likely just be a parts bin for everyone else. (Hi Mike).

I believe that every time you do a trail repair, you start bringing the extra parts to do that fix. I now bring an extra brake line, stuff for my hydro, need to track down extra brake caliper bolts, oil (every type). fuses, extra bit of wire. May throw in an extra power steering pump.

Gloves, nitrile and leather, recovery gear. towels.

Tools, adjustable wrenches, vice grips, set of open end wrenches and socket lines. pry bar. Cordless grinders can come in handy.

Best thing is to wheel with others with the gear, too.

 ...I resemble that remark...

You'll need beefier springs to bring trail parts for each time you break. My simplified approach is to consider what breakage would keep me from getting home?
I like that...I'm starting a list and will expanded it as I go.

Look who came home for the holidays.

beer. Oh, my bad. Thought you said ice box.
In addition to what others have mentioned, I have a cordless 1/2" impact w/ some sockets, cordless drill, 2 batteries, two tubes of red grease with one in the gun, zip ties, bailing wire, pry bars, duct tape, open/box end wrenches from super small to 22mm, vacuum line caps, head lamps (x2) (not for the rig, for my head so I can see at night).

10,12,14,17mm wrenches. That should cover just about every size on the vehicle. At least the stuff I would consider trail repairable. Duct tape, wire, wire cutters, a few spare hose clamps, some 5/8 ID hose. Some oil and some coolant. Maybe a AAA card.
