^^ are those metal tech tube doors? when'd u get em?

Naaaa, they are Warrior. I bought them about a year and a half ago. I saw them in some Sema photos from a couple of years ago and started harassing the guy from warrior until he finally sold me a set. They released them about a week later. As nice as Metal Tech's stuff is I just didn't like the look of their tube doors. These are really nice but I just have not been able to use them as much as I would like because my wife would not drive the FJ with the kids in it with tube doors. Thanks to the New Honda Pilot I don't have to worry about that anymore.

895s are good for 2.5-3" lift with little to no extra weight in the back, will still work fine for most rear bumpers tooo
896s are better for those running a rear bumper with swingouts, and usually carrying some heavy cargo.

If you are rarely carrying heavy cargo and dont plan on a rear bumper, the 895s are the way to go. I had them. I liked them.

Thanks Layton. I have enough extra weight to need something stiffer than the Toytec, Icon, RC springs but not quite enough for the 896OME springs. I talked to Jacque extensively about the issues I am having and the 895s were his recommendation also.

I am half way through a diff drop and cannot get my skids on:bang:.. fought with it all night with my room mate and never got it

What skids? Factory, Ricochet, Bud Built,...? I had to get longer bolts from Ricochet for my skids to work with the diff drop but I am sure you can get them at the hardware store. What problem are you having?

Mine are the factory skids but I think I need longer bolts bc of the ARB skid in the front? I am not sure I have not taken my skids on and off but one time. I did not find the Toytec directions to be that clear.... but then again this was AFTER our little meet and drink lol

I wish I could be of more help but I can't remember what all the diff drop requires concerning factory skids.

The tube doors are awesome in person. I passed Jonas on the way in this morning and the thing looked SWEET! One more mod to add to the list... :bang:

I agree, The doors look much better in person than in photographs but I think that could be said about the FJC in general. I always think my truck looks funny in pictures but I really like it in person. :meh:

PS-It's really fun to drive with the tube doors too.:D

Yeah I have not seen them in person but to be honest... I do not like them. But like you said everyone loves them once they have seen them in person...

and no worries on the diff drop I think when I look at it with a fresh set of eyes today I can knock it out.

They are an acquired taste. The fun factor sort of blurs the visual perception. It's kind of like the girl who maybe wasn't so atractive to you until you partied with her and then all of the sudden she went from a 6 to a 9.:grinpimp: That is the best analogy I can come up with at the moment. I would not want them on my truck all of the time but I sure do enjoy the time I have them on it. More of a fun girlfriend than a responsible wife.

Those are my favorite kind :D

I concur with that last statement.
