Mine worked great Jonas and saved me a couple times. Granted I don't expect it to last forever and it is slow, but for 300 it's hard to beat.

Update on my broken gear teeth:

Superwinch is sending me an entire new gear box.

They originally asked for me to ship the whole thing to them, but I did not see the point in incurring a couple a hundred dollars of shipping charges.

Honestly, I would look at the line speed for both and make your decision. Sme of the winches pull slowly. That is one of the things I like about the Warn, the speed that it pulls. I would say if the Ironman pulls faster, go for it.

Oh, and I got my skid plate primed and painted on one side. I'll get the other side done tomorrow then I hope to bring Hachi to JD for some much needed armoring. :D

Bout time! I will check the line speed.

Line speed and water resistance would be the two major items I would consider.

I can't find the line speed for the Ironman but it is marketed as "waterproof". The info for the badlands is as follows:
Volts: 12VDC
Horsepower: 6
1st layer line speed: 16.4 fpm (no load), 9.1 fpm (4000 lbs.), 7.6 fpm (8000 lbs.),5 fpm (12,000 lbs.)
Drum diameter: 2.5"
Gear ratio: 235:1
I have read that some people have had issues with the badlands not being water resistant but I have also read the same thing about the Engo. The reality of it is that the only way I am going to own a winch is if it is under $500 so I'm not sure that at that price point one is going to be that much better than the other. I can't seem to find to much about the Ironman except on Australian forums and they are making comparisons to much more expensive winches. Any info is welcomed.
