what to pay for a used power steering system

hey everyone as i mentioned in a previous post i have the opportunity to purchase the power steering out of a 79 fj55 from the same person who sold me my piggy.


the guy selling it has been very helpful and nice in answering all of my tech questions and i want to make sure he gets a fair price and i would also like to get a good deal for the system so we both go away from it knowing that we got our money's worth.

so i thought i would ask all of you what you think would be a fair price for me to pay for the PS gearbox / pump / hoses from a 1979 fj55 that i could use for my pig. a price that would be fair to the seller as well as to me.

Not sure on the 55 stuff, when I installed PS in my 40 it was ...

$125 Dorry Pedestal
$100 Used Mini Box
$125 West Texas Offroad rebuild (you may want to do this too)
$100 PS pump
$65 IPOR bracket
$40 IPOR pulley
$50 Custom hoses

I'd say ~$500 is fair for the OEM setup, just deducing from this. Just trying to get you in the ballpark -
