I'm just finishing up my first ever front end rebuild and I need to get the snap ring back on. I know that you can help this by putting a bolt in the end of the axle to pull it out a little bit. I need to do this because I can't even see the groove were the snap ring belongs. What size is the bolt? I'm probably going to have to go buy one since I don't think I have one laying around my house. TIA.

Thanks :beer::beer:

you can usually catch the threads with just about anything. i use the snap ring pliers.

Or a machinist's scribe w/ a 90 degree bend.

I think one of the fasteners for the hubs or brakes works for this. Maybe a spare stud for the lock-outs?

Thanks for all the tips. I ended getting the bolt at Home Depot. Worked perfectly!!
