Hey LandCruiser family

Recently my radiator busted. The dealer said a rock was responsible. I have changed the radiator a few times already this year. 2 radiators were from Autozone and the third OEM. I really don't want to spent ~$1,000 on OEM again from the dealer.

I'm not sure what busted the 2 from auto zone...really lol

What radiator do you have?
How much did you buy it for?
How long since you bought it?

My LandCruiser is a 1993 with >260k miles.

Gotta leave a pic of something so here...

I have a $79 mystery Chinese piece of junk that I installed in March. It is leaking. I hoped to get a Koyo from Amazon, but that's evidently "unpossible" (took them a week and a half to process my order, but I eventually cancelled it because I actually need a radiator) so I am taking a chance on an OSC from Rock Auto. That one is being shipped, so I haven't even seen it yet.

A radiator is like $380 from Toyota on toyotapartsbarn

I ordered one from there two years ago and it's still going strong

OEM, no reason not to, original lasted 18 years...

Koyo 1918. $176 delivered from CarID on eBay.

As an aside regarding Amazon. I've spoken with customer service about items that were out of stock and unknown that I'd been checking on for a few months in the past and as soon as I chatted with them they had it available and in my cart the next day. Worth a shot. @120mm

Too late. Already ordered it from Rock Auto.

Just purchased another CSF brass/copper to replace the one installed by the previous owner in '04. Had the old one repaired a few times but while doing a full overhaul of the cooling system I decided to replace it due to a few more small leaks. Not bad for an 11 year run. Along with a LandTank modified diesel fan clutch and oem fan my supercharged 80 heat issues should be a thing of the past.

OEM aluminum core, purchased last month for $370 ish out the door. $1000 is a complete rip off so I'm assuming you had the dealer install it and paid full price for the part ?

....yes :(

I was hoping that I wouldn't need to deal with a radiator for another 20+ years after that $1k.

Beno just quoted me $396 for a radiator so I'm ordering from him.

I was under the assumption that all FZJ radiators were the same, but I have a 96 and it fit perfectly.

I, personally, would steer clear of the TYC.

It came in a KoyoRad box when delivered to me and has the same part number as the one you suggested above. It's worked fine for me, but I also don't many miles on my 80.

Then it's a KOYORAD. I tried ordering the TYC off Amazon, hoping to get a Koyo, and it came in a TYC box with a TYC part number and said TYC on the radiator. That's the one I'd avoid. You got lucky and got the Koyo when you ordered the TYC. I heard it was a possibility and that's why I tried it at first. It was a POS, built awful and dented all up. Usually the Koyo's are ~$300 so you got an even better deal than I did!

Interesting. I saw your other post in another thread (what is the best radiator besides oem) and it came in the exact same box with the brass fittings. According to the sticker on the box, it says 95-97 LC so I guess that means that the 93-94 and 95-97 radiators are different for the FZJ motors.

I learned something new today! If I were in the market for a radiator I'd still take the chance on the TYC from Amazon and hope for a KoyoRad. Amazon's return policy is amazing and you don't have to pay for return shipping.

All radiators will fill all years but the brackets that are bolted to the sides are a bit different. Nothing that a little tinkering can't fix.
