That I can relate too... I hate feeling selfish with my "toys" but they call them SELF recovery winches for a reason... On or two pulls isn't bad, but when you have it out the whole weekend it gets tiring...

I understand Newbies, but I have wheeled with some folks for several years and they have upgraded everything, Somethings twice, but refuse to get a winch.

I hear you.. I really don't mind using it, in fact most of the time I jump at the occasion to get dirty, but as you mentioned... it can get old.

I never did try to install it... and this bumper sits 50' from where I type. There is a second Husky sitting in the garage, let me see what can be put together.

Where I wheel one CONSTANTLY runs into stuck folks w/o proper equipment, not to mention getting my own vehicle home. I know what is is like to be not so lucky, 18, stuck w/o a winch, and have someone with an "equiped" shiney truck truck drive by, screw folks like that!.... Things have gone well for me in life, so I can afford the proper recovery equipment these days, it needs to work often... so my choice is the Husky. As old as it gets (and I do understand), I won't leave someone in the woods....

Agreed, I didn't want it to come across like I wouldn't help get someone unstuck, especially if they are alone. My beef is with my own freinds that have put thousands of dollars into chromo 60's, Atlas's, tubework, etc and forget that they still don't have a winch up front... ;) :D

Still, when push comes to shove, I like giving them the line... :D
