I found this while going through some stuff from the previous owner recently. Just wanna know If Its missing from where it needs to be or if I should simply toss it.

My truck has one. Its underneath the throttle body. I can get a pic if need be.

That is a filter/check valve, it is attached to a tube that is attached to the dash pot on the throttle body. The dash pot is used like a snubber valve, its job is to prevent the throttle from slamming shut, instead the dash pot slows down the closing of the throttle plate, it is supposed to prevent backfires during deceleration. I've actually backed off the adjustment of the despot and have never had a back firing issue.
