What is the 'suitcase' thing (red hose running to it)? I've got the brackets and lines under my pig, but never knew what they were for.

I was just ebaying for 55 stuff and came across this original beauty. Looking through the pictures, I saw the 'suitcase' and was curious.Lucy_FJ55 said:Are you thinking about buying it? Are you planning to take a look at it? Or were you just curious about the emissions dealio?
While we're all wondering how that pig kept her bottom so clean (tires look like its a driver) My 1971 Pig has a big ole heavy duty skid plate under the trans/transfer case --- looks factory, looks a lot like an FJ40 plate but with holes for drain plugs and frame mounts set up for a 55. Was the skid plate a factory option, or has everyone else taken their's off?
Any info appreciated

I can only dream of owning such a well cared for pig. That thing should be in a museum . . .
