What is the 'suitcase' thing (red hose running to it)? I've got the brackets and lines under my pig, but never knew what they were for.

Ooooh, droool. Sooper clean piggie. I remember when this came up for sale recently. Man, I wanted to jump on this thing at that time. Glad to see it went to a Cruiserhead! Enjoy it!

Cheers, Carlos
OH, HOW I WISH!! I have a fairly clean 55, but . . .

It's not MY pig . . .

Aha! Its still for sale... I think this is an excellent example of an unmolested '55. I know some folks were concerned because it just looks too new, but I think its the real deal. Doesn't matter I suppose because I can't buy it regardless. :)

Are you thinking about buying it? Are you planning to take a look at it? Or were you just curious about the emissions dealio?

Pig Bottom Questions

While we're all wondering how that pig kept her bottom so clean (tires look like its a driver) My 1971 Pig has a big ole heavy duty skid plate under the trans/transfer case --- looks factory, looks a lot like an FJ40 plate but with holes for drain plugs and frame mounts set up for a 55. Was the skid plate a factory option, or has everyone else taken their's off?

Any info appreciated

I was just ebaying for 55 stuff and came across this original beauty. Looking through the pictures, I saw the 'suitcase' and was curious.

I can only dream of owning such a well cared for pig. That thing should be in a museum . . .

As far as I know the skidplate protecting the TC is factory installed on every Pig. As it should be.

You know, now that I see it, that Pig has popped up on this forum 3 times in the last year. Nice to finally get the story behind that little gem. Hope it goes to a Mud member.

Every Pig I've seen came with a factory skidplate.

Thanks Guys

I thought they had to be factory standard but this clean bottomed pig doesn't have one and I've seen 3 or 4 others recently without them, mine didn't have one when i bought her but i've added one since she came home. Figured this clean one was so clean it would have everything factory on her. Thanks for the confirmation.

I've also seen this up for sale at least 3 times in the last year or so. Think last time it sold for about $13,000 ????

Her bottom is awlful pretty - really like the one red hose. ;)
