So, the corona had the cruiser parked for a few months and I found the wire to this round horn looking thing chewed up. Luckily, this is the only damage. Anyone know what the round item above the airbox is? It’s mounted to the fender.

Horn as far as I know. Have someone honk your horn while your hand is on it to be sure. If the horn doesnt work wire issue
 
Alarm horn, I believe. Not the horn that goes off when you press the center of the steering wheel.

If the wire was actually chewed, you might tape a rodent death tap in there for a week or 2. Web posts suggest possibility of rodent lunching on the wire because it has a soybean oil-based insulation. I've sold wire and cable for 20 years but I've never heard of a rodent actually being caught in the act, nor soybean insulation.
 
Thanks guys. Thinking of just cutting the wires off and removing the thing to see what happens. Worst case I splice in a new section of wire.
