What is this part, where does it go?

Looking for some help, rebuilding a 71 fj40 started with a lot of pieces and boxes of parts. This is one that I believe it goes on the transfer case linkage but need some help to identify where it actually belongs. Thank you for your assistance

I really don’t know . It is not shown in my Haynes repair manual or on the SOR parts. If does go on the distributor assume it would go under the adjustment lock bolt?

When asking for the ID of a part in a pic something for scale is important. A quarter for example would do nicely.
I have a 72 direct shift since 82 and I have never seen that part that I know of.

When asking for the ID of a part in a pic something for scale is important. A quarter for example would do nicely.

I looked briefly at the transfer case stuff in the links above and didn't see the part. Is it possible that it is broken off along that half moon edge at the tabs? I do like the speedo retainer thought or perhaps in the e-brake system.

It doesn’t appear to be broken. I will check the emergency brake hub and the speedometer. Thank you

I think it is a distributor hold down piece. Googles image search turned up something that looks very similar. Either way it doesn't seem to be stock to the 40.
