I ordered this stuff from the company and after waiting several days for an official response/acknowledgement from the company I decided it was time to get a refund.
I will say that I did get an acknowledgement from Paypal but that is automated and of course they took my money right away. I sent an email, no reply, then I tried to called, just got voicemail. I sent another email requesting immediate refund based on no acknowledgement also mentioning ramifications if they did not responded and cc'd my lawyer. Then they send an email back explaining that it would be 4 more days and my acknowledgment was from my Paypal. I responded and said refund today please and thank you, and a credit was issued via Paypal.
I will not say this is snake oil, and I am sure it works, but here is my issue with it. The advertisement is very deceptive, stating that for 49cents a gallon you can drive your diesel, in reality it is 49cents direct cost and your time and labor to come up with the fuel, most other have labor/time effort as well but they are straight up front about that. Then there is the mystery juice, I have no doubt this is some type of stabilizer that is very useful but again no information not even some indication what they bring to the table with it. Also in the Q&A there are a few comments that are very condescending basically saying if you can’t put the effort into it then go waste your money on diesel (paraphrasing here), and not exactly the type of message a good company would be sending out.
I will say that had I been given a receipt shortly after they got my money I would have tried it just to give them the chance but since they really could not be bothered and the other stuff, I decided nope, not going to deal with this guy (and I am pretty sure it is one guy).
Now if you are just looking for lower cost per gallon then look into “green diesel” and “black diesel” this will give you that, and here is the interesting point for all those worried about road tax. Do the additives you buy an put in your tank have road tax? In the USA I can tell you no, they are considered additives. If that is the case where you live then if you are mixing something with Diesel you purchase and pay road tax on then it is also and additive and probably not subject to road tax either. I think that might be a good reason to look into “green diesel”.
I am going to stick with my original plan and run Bio-oil, there is some cost for the extra tank and heating but it will still be the cheapest and environmentally the safest. I will report back once my testing is over and I have my cruiser running on it all the time.
Cheers,
Michael
