Not too familiar with pickups, but want one. This one is in Texas so it is somewhat local to me (most of them seem to be on the coasts, particularly California). Do you think this is a fair price for this vehicle?

1988 Toyota 4x4 Truck

Thanks.

William

I like it, I believe that year V6 had original asbestos HG's. Not living in the rust belt is also a plus, metal looks clean.

It depends on what you're looking to do with it...

It has a good start in the offroad department, but no crawler box and homemade crossover steering...

As for the truck the bob needs to be finished, it has a DLX gauge set, the interior door handle is shot and the windshield is cracked..... And what's with that huge woofer???

That said, it is pretty clean, and that's harder and harder to find these days...

I'd offer him around $4k and see what happens, but only if that's what you really want to buy.

Cut that ridiculous stinger off the front bumper. Fix the bed. Not sure about where you are, but you'd never get that registered around here with the tires sticking out like that.

ehhhhhh. Not bad. Like others said, you have to add the cost of "finishing" the truck to your needs.

I am in Austin and might be driving out to Tyler to buy a campershell in the next two weeks. If that happens, I can check it out the truck for you.

OK, I just looked at it again. Its not bad, but the interior is what would bother me. You have a cracked dash, half fab'd center console, torn window arm rest, and the cracked windshield. On that note, I guess I would start to question why somebody with a fab shop would leave the bed bob unfinished. That would start to bother me in regard to some of the other work done. Did he cut corners there too? Just something to think about.

The rear shocks are too long for the amount of lift and that you can hang a few bodies from that front stinger like mad max but other than that it looks fine.

That second truck is nice, but I think it sold for a premium. Unless I missed it, the drivetrain is stock? Its clean, and painted, but until you see a truck like that, you don't know how any rust was repaired. From the photos it looks nice though.

I am on craigslist all of the time looking for parts and just waisting time while I recover from an injury. If I see a nice rig, I wll forward it your way. If your patient, you will find what you want. I am practically giving away an 85 SR5 parts truck that's in the back yard of my rent house, so if you find a truck and you need some stuff for it, this truck probably has it.

What part of Austin are you in? If you are in South Austin, have yous seen that double cab 2nd gen Toyota truck around? It was for sale a few months ago on CL

The 3.0 and chain case kills it for me.... If it had the 22re and geared duals it would be more desirable for the $$ in IMO.

The rest of it can be fixed... starting with the front hoop. ;)

Other than that, I'd wheel it! :D

Ooo, that second one is nice! I'm kinda partial to the ext cabs tho :grinpimp:
....pricey tho.

Depends what ya wanna do with it too. Something already scratched and has a touch or rust and a dent or two is a lot more fun on the trail. If I wheeled that tan truck I'd be paranoid for fear of denting or scratching it. Not that it can't be done, just gotta keep your head and not tackle obstacles beyond the rigs ability.

...anyway... shopping for a rig is FUN!!!!
