My Cruiser stuff used to be just in a couple shoeboxes when I got the truck new. It slowly evolved into a rubbermaid tub. Then two. Now it's a corner of the garage, and since I became a member of the Cruiser Assistance Club (CAC), I rarely toss even little stuff. Sitting in labeled baggies. So what do youse guys have lying about? Here's my stuff, used unless indicated:

Spark plugs
2 air filters
14 OEM oil filters - new (booby trapped - don't even think about it)
plug wires
3 belt set - new
3 belt set
2 radiators
Hella fog lamp assy
Misc exterior bulbs
3 rad caps
Fuel cap
heater hoses
thermostat
2 alternator contact sets
misc fog bulbs
head gasket (used for only 1 week)
wiper blades (new)
overhead grab handles (5)
third row seatbelts
3 lug nuts (new)
2 each all drain plug metal gaskets
1 dashboard bulb Cdan refuses to identify for me
clips and screws for 2 fender flares
1 EGR valve body - used and broken in half (don't ask)
1 oak colored jack storage door (from Scott's truck)
1 rear hatch lock knob
weld-on lower diff rock guard
starter plunger/contact set (new)
grey inside rearview mirror
2 lower PHH pipe bolts (perm. removed during HG replacements)
all manner of fluids, greases and oils
speedo cable O ring
2 dist caps
2 rotors
set fuel injector O rings
various OEM spring style hose clamps
OEM trailer wire
Oak driver's power window switches (from Scott's truck)

Here's what I need:

1 rear hatch glass for 97 (PO scratched defogger)
1 knurled plastic knob that holds the factory roof crossbars in place

So, if you break down coming through N. Idaho you're in pretty good shape. Just don't ask me to put that HG in - I'll let you watch my DVD free, though...

I think my old factory rack is still out in the rubbish heap.

It would take me a while to compile a complete list but I'll add a few things that I know are in my boxes and not on your list.

1. Spare front long side inner axle.
2. Spare front short side inner axle.
3. Two spare birfields; one has been 'smurfed' (Thanks Simon)
4. Wheel bearings & races.
5. Knuckle bearings & races.
6. Wiper inserts (new)
7. Various bulbs (headlight high, headlight low, tail, brake, plate)
8. OEM tow loops (F&R)

and a lot of the same stuff you listed.

You should see my crawl space...;)

Can I count the 600 grand I have on the shelf at work?...:flipoff2:

Actually, I have an entire spare 80, which would not be available via CAC. So would I beat you on weight - think your 80 Series shelf stock weighs more than 5300lbs?

I doubt that but I do know that I stock more trunion bearings than most of the factory depots do.....:hillbilly

Using your "parts bank" to it's fullest would require dismantleing one of your rides. My stuff comes off the shelf..;)

And in "nickle" baggies. :flipoff2:

OTOH, to be usable, your parts have to be installed. My spares are usable with the turn of a key....

Assorted bulbs, fuses, wiper blades .. oh, and I'm going to be stocking up on flashers.

The Zenmobile travels lite ..

Based on your logic Doug should have two head gaskets in each of his trucks...;)

I'm thinking of pop riveting it to a piece of teak and making it into a 6 hole cup holder for the boat. The timing gear opening would be perfect for a pair of sunglasses...

Lots of stuff, dont remember but for sure still have 3 dozens of 'em in stock :grinpimp:
Oil Filter 001.webp

Yeah - heh. Now where in Pasadena is your casa........zact'ly (reaching for MapQuest button)?

DougM

starter (+ new contacts)
alternator (+ new brushes
fuel pump realy (in glove box)
and a bunch more used stuff not much new besides consumables (plugs, fluids filteres etc)

This came in hady recently, had a squeek in the rear pull the wheels and found rear pads had got down to the squeal tabs without me noticing, chucked on some used rear pads with life left and next payday called Dan, ordered fronts wile I was at it. I can now wait for a nice day to put on the new ones and still have the spares instead of beign a race against the rivets.

That is a great example. Could have used rear pad spares myself. Checking things over before a long tow, I realized the rears were paper thin. No time for the Dan Man, I bought pads at the local dealer. That evening I went to slap them on for morning departure. Crap, they gave me FRONTS! Had to go to NAPA after hours for pads. Yes, they squeal and yes it is pretty much the only non OEM part on either truck.

Doug I think your local dealer parts guy must have went to the same school as mine, he is no Dan that is for sure, seams there is always a catch when I use him, weather it be the wrong part, parts that take forever to get and/or are way over priced,

went in to get Toyota red not to long ago, got plugs wile I was there figured they woudl be a little more than Dan but w/ shipping on a small item a wash, NOPE! charged me over 4 bucks each  and the toyot ared was not on sale this time :(

I'll never understand that phenomenon myself. Your observation matches mine. Toyota has a pretty good parts ordering and tracking system and it never failed that my local dealer (no slouch) would screw something up. Wrong year, couldn't find it on the computer, not available, arrived and handed to me bent, etc.

I know that Dan's head is already too big, but my world is a much better place because of him. Don't tell him, but I'd actually pay MORE for his crap because I make one phone call or PM and can totally forget about it until a brown truck pulls up out front and magically disgorges exactly what I need EVERY time. Crap, now where's that delete key.....

Seriously though. I can plan an axle repack for next weekend and when the package arrives I know that every single part down to the minutest seal or washer will be in there - no drama.
