What did your Cruiser get for Christmas?

those look sweet... almost too pretty to put on the truck and just put them on the wall.

I agree they are ALMOST too pretty to put on the truck. The ticking has to stop though! This is the only cure!!!

My cruiser got a new owner (me) and a new OEM pewter bumper for Christmas. It also got an angle grinder and air compressor to make it look purdy again.

no doubt... I wish I could still get the headers for the 3FE.... not that the 3FE will ever go woo-pow!

Those headers are sweet. I love the sound of a 100 with a little rumble.

Hope to get them on the truck in the next month or so. From what I have read on the group buy thread, the headers don't add much rumble. Not sure why though...

Gotta do the whole exhaust to get the rumble.

That's way down my wish list at this time. I wouldn't want it loud anyways. I think the only manufacturer, other than something custom, is Borla.

You gonna install your headers yourself?

Sort of. I have a mechanic friend down in Destin that is gonna help me install them when I can get down there. I guess a couple of more months of ticking can't make that much difference!!

Here is a pic of what my LC got for Christmas....Not sure when I will have time to get them installed.

No more ticking though!!!

Am I missing something here...I thought all the 100 series were rolling with a V8...those headers look like they are for a V6 or a S6...aren't they missing a pipe?

Mark,
You are correct, the 100s have a V8. The headers are a 4 to 1 design. Guess from the picture you can't see that.

Nice to meet you over at Lenny's house the other weekend.

What is this ticking you speak of ? No tick on mine...yet.

When the OEM exhaust manifolds crack, they make a ticking sound from the exhaust gases that are leaking form the flange. It happens when the truck is cold. Once warm, the manifolds expand and the ticking stops.

Toyota decided it was cheaper to just replace cracked manifolds under warranty than re-design them. So once your warranty is up, you are on the hook for anywhere between 1400-1800 to replace both sides with parts and labor.

Doug Thorley designed the headers you see in the thread. It was a group buy. They are an improvement over stock and hopefully will not crack and need replacement (they have a lifetime warranty). They cost about the same as the OEM replacement exhaust manifolds.

Have seen the group buy headers thread before but never looked at it. That would be the prettiest thing on my truck if it were installed. When you do the headers are you going to do a write up?

If you are interested, you can read about the last 6 pages or so of the group buy thread. That will give you an idea of what people are saying about them. My OEM manifolds are cracked so that is why I am going with the headers instead. If they were not cracked, I would spend the extra thousand on something else.

I do plan to take lots of pics and do a write up once the install is complete.
