I fitted a set of Hella trumpet horns today they sound louder with a deeper tone then the standard beep type.
I also brought a fzj80 air cleaner lid and was going to add the piece like coldtaco but this is huge compared to the 2h air cleaner so will have to mod this to fit.

That's why I cut the top part out. After wards I was thinking of getting another one and see if I still can make it fit with a bit more thinking

"Toyota LC Military GXL" ..... Good lord, I wanna see! haha
Did you buy an ex military 79 series double cab at an auction or something?

Inquiring minds want to know Brian.

:)
Ordered a brand new L/C dual cab after the demise of my last 79 series. 3 - 4 month wait ex Japan. I can only imagine that "military" refers to the colour which I ordered, being sandy taupe. This colour does not normally come to Aus, so there is 0 stock here, hence it being a special build vehicle and the 3-4 month wait. I've got a trip planned for early September so I hope it gets here before then.

Cold taco
The outlet in the 2h lid is 2 3/4 and the fjz80 is 3 1/2 so all I need to fit will be a 3 1/2 to 3 inch elbow reducer. The air box will need more work also because the safari snorkel inlet looks around 2 1/2 inch.

got some ideas about the airbox inlet. later some time.

Hello,

The fuel tank cap on the FZJ73 gave up the ghost. I replaced it.

Proper replacement part number is 77316-16010, but this one is an exact replacement.

Changed rear axle bearings and seals , followed by brake pads. Self adjusting mechanism seemed bit erratic and I had to open the drums few times after checking temperatures with an infrared thermomether .Toyota Italy gave me TRW pads as oem.
Shiny tube is sst to depress the driveshaft on lightduty axles, in Europe can be purchased from roughtrax in Uk.

The box stops camping gear moving round and keeps stuff dry...the cover can live in it when its not on the ute and it seemed like a more usefull idea than bars too take the sag out....i used some builders tar baked flashing tape too shut the road noise up...it actually worked pretty good

Loaded up some camping essentials and headed out toward an old mining area in the desert east of Joshua Tree National Park.

Went into the park through Berdoo Canyon and couldn't resist taking a picture while airing down

Passed a few of these weird looking trees as the sun went down

Camped near an old building at the base of a steep trail that in the dark the night before, provided an interesting opportunity to test the rear locker/front limited slip combination as well as the Fyrlyt Nemesis lights.

Felt rather old skool at camp when @sortmanfdxg and @bushdoctor showed up with their fancy 100s
