Were you in the lower mainland a couple days ago? I saw a fire truck with a flat bed/headavche rack coming off the Ironworkers bridge, there can't be too many of them running around...

No I would likely have been in YEG. It could have been a 75 series as they are becoming more common. As far as I know there are only three double cab 79s in Canada. 1 in BC (mine), 1 in Edmonton and the other in Ontario.

Your rig is turning out really great. Some of the fire trucks seem like a really great deal on the Japan import sites. What do you think about the utility/usefullness of the high roof? Is the space of good use to make it worth being less stylish?

Thank you! It’s a work in progress!

As for the high roof I don’t actually plan on keeping it. I will be installing the factory OEM roof in spring. I want to be able to add a roof rack and with the high roof it just gets too tall.

A nice package arrived
Now just have to order some time alone...

Thank you all for the thumbs up and the unified wellness feeling when watching new parts being purchased and old rigs being resurrected.
I will feel much more accomplished when I get off of my ass and start installing the goodies......but hey, just managed the first 50% of the effort, getting the parts to me.
Keep on the good work and encouragement for every one who is respectful and active for old iron (and some stained aluminum).

Today I installed these two Aliexpress purchases 😄 Been wanting to find something cool to cover a nasty scratch on the air duct so I got this emblem.

Also my steering wheel has started going bad so I got this leather cover, which I had to take to an upholsterer to get it narrowed before installing. Paid more to get it fixed than how much it cost 😅 Feels and looks really good though now.

Found my rear main seal leak. The bearing retainer fractured and made all the dinosaur juice leak out.

be carefull, depending on who looks at your order history that can be interpreted in the wrong way:beer:
Not exactly sure I fully understand, but if you are referring to my second half, she don't mind as long as I am keeping myself busy....
Cheers
