I had this overhauled some time ago. Do not know if it is a F or 2F. Year? Has EGR ports tapped in it.
Thank you,
Eric.

but not late enough to work on a 2F, I don't think. is there an oil galley hole in the boss of the #4 rocker shaft support pad?...I believe the Air Injection Reaction nozzle ports were added in the early 70s...Late F head.
The earlier F and the late F heads also had the outboard manifold holes...they just didn't have anything that screwed into them. Does your head have the 10mm or the 12mm manifold studs? (12mm happened on the 2F). Get the casting number off the head, I'll compare it with mine, I'm running a late F head on a 2F block, but I'm sure I have a 2F head around somewhere.
you might have the late F head...
Two 2F heads in my garage each have a casting number 61031.
The late F head on my Pig has the 60050 casting in it.
In referring to manifold stud size, I meant the diameter of the stud, not the size of the wrench that turns the nut on it.
And those are fresh air injection ports that are crimped, not EGR ports.
Hmmmm...I thought it was the other way around..
That the late F head had the "bathtub" combustion chambers (was more oval) than the 2F.
And that it was this bathtub head, that, when mated to a 2F block, and domed pistons, raised compression.
So that's what I did and it sure did raise compression. I gotta use good gas now.
