I bought some paint from cruiser corps, cygnus white T12, to paint some new steps for my cruiser.

They ended up much creamer than the white on my 1971 FJ40.

From the photo you can see. I used this spot to compare, because the vent was replaced with a used Olympus White vent, which is far bighter white than my ‘40.

Any thoughts? What color is my ‘40? Maybe there are two shades of Cygnus White?

Thanks for the help.

I’m just going to chalk it up that modern paint looks different than the original paint. It looks really different, so it’s either that, or a bad paint mix.
You could try Canvas White from Rustoleum. May be too glossy, but its a bit whiter than Cygnus but not bright white. This member has used it on his later model 40. I bought a box from Home Depot to paint some parts on my 40 which is the same color as his.

Take a kick vent with you to the hardware store to see what matches the samples. If none are close enough for you, find a place to scan the kick vent and make up a spray can. That's not cheap, but the results are good.
