Spook50 said:You shouldn't need 4Runner calipers. I think your FJ60/62 calipers should work. I honestly don't know the difference between the 96-02 4Runner rotors and the ones on our rigs, but I've been told several times that our rotors are just fine.

baldredhead said:for a street driven vehicle, probably not much. slotted/xdrilled rotors were invented to combat heat issues, mainly outgassing from the pads under repetitive heavy braking. if you drive in the hills at high speeds slotting isn't a bad idea. cross drilled rotors are mainly a fashion thing, the holes promote cracking and shred your pads.
when i get around to putting the 4runner calipers on my 62 i'll be using plain ol rotors unless i find a really good deal on slotted ones, no chance of cross drilled
