You shouldn't need 4Runner calipers. I think your FJ60/62 calipers should work. I honestly don't know the difference between the 96-02 4Runner rotors and the ones on our rigs, but I've been told several times that our rotors are just fine.

You don't need 4Runner/V6 calipers, but you may want them :)

I know and I want 'em! but by the time I get some extra cash for 'em, someone will have already bought 'em from you

Hey Beanz2, what's with the little green marks in the picture?

That is where a buddy of mine ground his calipers so his wagon wheels would fit. Some wheels fit fine without grinding, some others don't.

Dave

Were these the factory 15" FJ62 wheels?

I know that different pads can have quite a drastic effect on braking performance but how much difference do performance rotors actually make?

for a street driven vehicle, probably not much. slotted/xdrilled rotors were invented to combat heat issues, mainly outgassing from the pads under repetitive heavy braking. if you drive in the hills at high speeds slotting isn't a bad idea. cross drilled rotors are mainly a fashion thing, the holes promote cracking and shred your pads.

when i get around to putting the 4runner calipers on my 62 i'll be using plain ol rotors unless i find a really good deal on slotted ones, no chance of cross drilled

I agree. Avoid cross-drilled rotors like the plague. Slotted I would say if you do alot of stop-and-go driving would be worth it. But then again I drive hard (and brake harder), so for someone like me, slotted probably would make a decent difference :D

The DBA's look great! And your deal sounds great also Mangler, but as I'm rebuilding the entire front axle, and moving into a house this month, my budget is shot.
