Its on the Glow Side of the engine and they are big thick wires.. is your glow setup functional? I'd hazard a guess you have a superglow setup and these two wires go either side of the resistor for the two stage glow process.

Its definitively isnt for the alternator, its on the other side of the block.

Is this for a 2L engine? IIRC, pretty sure it bolts to bottom side of intake manifold. I pulled my 2L-TE recently and I'm pretty certain that is where this attached.
