Hello all and thank you for your service and this thread. Just read through all 52 pages of it, some great stories.

I'm Nate.

Been to a few states and a bit of SW Asia.

Been into cruisers since my brother @AKayl got me into wrenching and wheeling in high school, back then he said they were too big. Then he bought one before I did.

Welcome Nate and thanks for your service and that of your brother. Where was that photo taken showing the white Toyota? Looks like a spot where the Army would station a guy for a three year tour.

Thank you!
I came in as an "x-ray" and the rest is history.

Thank you!
Sorry for the confusion, big brother isn't in the service. He's running a business and raising most of a basketball team these days.

You're telling me! I've got my eye on a '65 40 series that I'm trying to talk myself out of, and looking at getting into a 200 in about a year (driving that VDJ in the desert was not the best idea I've ever had).

Thank you!
Both the VDJ and Hilux were stateside, both TDY trips.

First post here!

Retired Navy Pilot, flew SH-60B's off of Frigates and Destroyers...lots of cool shore tours including the Chief Government Pilot at the Sikorsky Factory where I got to but a lot of hours on brand new Blackhawks and Seahawks.

Not new to Toyota but this is my first modern LC, a 1996 Series 80...just getting acquainted. I look forward to learning from the folks here.

Best.

Good Morning,

@Chungas Revenge suggested we create a thread or a forum to contain 'all things Veteran'. Chungas noticed that there are a lot of Vets who have developed a relationship with these old beauties that we all prize.

@woody is going to review this, when he has time and will decide where/how to best host this on IH8MUD.

Vets: Please let everyone know who you are and, please, let's leave religion and political discussions to other threads/forums/websites...no need to start a battle here.

Please tell as much or as little, about yourself, as you like... but give us a first name, branch of service and period of service.
Served on the USS Woodrow Wilson, USS James Madison. Both SSBN ballistic submarines in the 80's.
I am very proud of what I did. Currently a member of our local American Legion Post 45, as well as our local VFW Post 6375. Lived on both coasts, currently in the midwest. All of the Vets in both posts cannot believe my stories. We have no Submariners in either posts.
Thanks
Scott

Good Evening, real new member here. My name is Duane, and we own a 2004 Lexus GX. We bought it last year from a dealership in Scottsdale, AZ for a great price ($8900, 102k miles, single owner). We also own a STI-swapped Subaru wagon, I didn't like the STi engines we were offered in the US so I bought an imported one that should last a lot longer.

I was in the Navy from 2008-2015, and now am in the AF from 2015 to present. I hope to stay in as long as possible because I love the military, despite all of the quirks and challenges.
