Hello Alvin and welcome to the highway. Thanks for your service.

Fellow Vets, I just stumbled on the Veteran's Highway....And I haven't even been drinking!

USMC 1985 - 2006, CamPen, Iwakuni, Beaufort, 13th MEU, and all over the globe.
I am in Tucson, and am working a 1971 FJ40, that I call "rusty". Picked her up from a yard in W. Tucson a year ago June. I had an Iron Pig (FJ55) in high school, and finally have time for a project. I have discovered sand blasting and powder coating, but have discovered many parts are available brand new, for a little less than redoing the old parts. I like trying to use the old parts though. Swaped out the aftermarket wheels for rusted steelies I had powder coated - they look sweet! Am in the process of refurbishing some seat frames, so I can get rid of the early 80's Toyota pick-up truck seats. I have found all the FJ people out there to be some of the best people in the world. You can tell a lot about a person by the rig they have.

Semper Fidelis to all the Marines on here, and thanks to each and everyone of you that wrote that blank check, up to and including your life. I salute each of you that served this great nation.

My best,

B.A'

We're about the same age then, I served Army and Army National Guard 1985-2007. I think a lot of the guys on here are either twenty years older or twenty years younger.

Welcome.

Hey @Big Ed, I served from 81-05. So y'all are just a bit younger then me.

Cool, we're not the only ones.

I just passed 15 yrs of combined active, reserve and Air Guard service on Monday. My son is going to MEPS in Troy, MI on Monday to start his AF career. I told him he had to be enlisted before trying to be an officer. As long as he scores well on his ASVAB he will work down the flight line from me at Aircrew Flight Equipment.

Hi 69LC, welcome to the highway. Thank you and your son for your service.
