Hi,
I am hoping there are some electrical guru that can help point me in the direction. I lack understanding when it comes to these systems but can usually troubleshoot and use a multimeter and figure it out. In this case I just can even figure out where to start.
The problem is I changed over to a Pertronix electronic ignition and the high voltage coil. With this setup I do not have dash lights, when I switch back to the OEM coil I have dash lights. I have heard the recommendation of keeping the old coil but it does run significantly better with the new coil.
I have a original alternator with the original voltage regulator.
Thanks
Nick

By rotating the pull-switch for headlights, you can make the instrument cluster, dash lamp, and under dash heater light go on or off. The contacts are not too good, being fifty-plus years old. However, rotating the switch a bit can make them work as they should again. Same thing with the turn signal; the contacts in the hazard switch needed me to put caulking on the exterior cowl-seam, and work the hazard knob a bit to bring the turn signal back to life.

Year/ model / market would help. I’m familiar with pertronix and have installed 3 or 4 (only 1 in a 40). A Pertronix flamethrower will draw more current. Easiest solution would be to install a relay. Pertronix has a relay for this specific issue.
